Workflows

Workflows are a sequence of jobs that instruct ODEX to perform actions as a file progresses through the system. ODEX Enterprise uses workflows to provide you with total control and flexibility of the business document exchange process.

ODEX Enterprise can automatically generate e-mail notifications to provide status information as the file passes through the system, copy files from internal systems via FTP, map messages into your internal file formats and run other applications.

An example scenario may be to receive an EDI standard orders message from your trading partner, email a notification to your accounts department, send a copy to your production manager, map the message into your internal accounting application format and archive the file. This whole process is fully automated and a comprehensive audit trail of all the jobs performed is created.

Integration

ODEX Enterprise orchestrates the integration between systems, whether they are internal or external to your company. ODEX Enterprise utilises XLATE Evolution to provide mapping functionality so that you can map between differing internal or external system message formats.

ODEX Enterprise has a specialised SAP integration component that delivers a seamless EDI capability to SAP systems. The integration offered by ODEX Enterprise enables EDI data to flow between SAP and trading partners, whilst also allowing SAP to monitor the status of outgoing files.

ENGDAT

ODEX Enterprise has a dedicated ENGDAT module for the exchange of CAD/CAM design drawings with your trading partners. It supports both ENGDAT v2 and ENGDAT v3, and uses trading partner relationships and validation profiles to aid the process of creating ENGDAT messages. The validation profiles set the various ENGDAT fields to be mandatory or optional dependent on your trading partner's standards to ensure that you send all the required information first time round.

ODEX Enterprise provides you with a complete audit trail of all processing and communications sessions, allowing you to trace the progress of business critical files as they pass between your systems. Any operational issues can be traced back and resolved before your business is impacted. You can set up a variety of monitoring processes to provide instant feedback to your users via email or SNMP traps.
